Our mission at Aqsa Educational Society is clear: to provide educational opportunities to the girls of Bhiwandi. We firmly believe in the transformative power of education to bridge the gap between students from low-income backgrounds and their more privileged peers. By fostering educational independence from preschool through college, we aim to empower and uplift our students, allowing them to thrive and reach their full potential.

Working collaboratively with educators, parents, policymakers, and community leaders, Aqsa Educational Society strives to create an educational ecosystem that serves all students equitably. Since our inception in 1980, founded by: Shaikh Abdus Samad Sharfuddin Rahimuhulla. Aqsa Educational Society have been steadfast in our commitment to promoting literacy and learning in Bhiwandi's power loom city. Our initiatives are designed to address the unique challenges faced by socially and economically marginalized families, particularly girls, in accessing quality education and overcoming high dropout rates.
Aqsa's Educational journey began humbly with a single preschool in Bhiwandi's underserved areas, but has since blossomed into a comprehensive educational network comprising 5 schools, 2 junior colleges, and a degree college.
Our degree college offers various affiliations for formal university education, providing both traditional courses and skill development programs. Our founding vision aimed for a seamless educational journey from kindergarten to postgraduate studies, all within the same campus. AES addresses multiple facets of education and empowerment, including life skills development, computer literacy, vocational training, transportation support, and college fee assistance.
We have grown into a prominent educational institution in Bhiwandi, raising awareness and mobilizing resources to support our mission. Since our establishment in 1980, our innovative approach has positively impacted the lives of over ---- girls and women, significantly enhancing their opportunities for higher education and employment.
In addition to academic instruction, we offer life skills sessions covering health, hygiene, nutrition, childcare, and digital literacy, enriching the educational experience. Our career counselling and mentoring programs empower students to explore their aspirations and develop strategies for achieving them.
Many girls aspire to continue their education but face socio-economic barriers and cultural pressures. Aqsa Educational Society provides vital financial support, enabling girls to pursue their educational dreams despite the challenges they may encounter.

As the Aqsa Educational Society, nestled in the heart of Bhiwandi, Maharashtra, India, we stand as a beacon of hope for the impoverished minority Muslim girls in our community. Our mission is clear: to break the cycle of poverty through education and empowerment. However, we find ourselves at a critical juncture, grappling with challenges that threaten our ability to sustain and expand our noble efforts.
With a population of over 1.5 million people, Bhiwandi, a bustling powerloom-based industrial city is home to a large population of poor immigrant families. Among them, minority Muslim families (almost 60% of the population) face particularly daunting hurdles, struggling to make ends meet amidst economic adversity. In this landscape of hardship, education often takes a backseat, especially for a girl child.
Our institution serves as a sanctuary for these vulnerable girls, offering them not just education, but a lifeline to a brighter future. With schools, junior colleges, and degree colleges tailored to their needs, we currently nurture over 6,000 girls across our institutions.
However, our journey is fraught with challenges. The economic situation in our city is dire, with families barely scraping by. The lack of support from the government, compounded by our minority Muslim focus, poses additional hurdles. Despite our best efforts to keep fees subsidized, many of our students struggle to meet even these modest costs. The urgent need for financial assistance has never been more palpable. It is with a sense of urgency and determination that we reach out to you, our esteemed donors across the Muslim world.
